Who: Daniel and Ava When: Evening Where: Amazing Grace
Ava liked to go for walks in the evenings; not just on the nights when she was hungry, of course, but most nights usually turned up something interesting, if one knew where to look. For this day, she'd sipped on some fae blood for an opportunity to be out and about without discomfort before the sun set; she'd had some business to take care of that required her presence in some offices with strictly daylight hours. Business concluded, she'd flown back to Scarlet Oak as dusk fell and stopped for a coffee at a little place near the high school. The barrier was mildly interesting, but her initial interest had waned when nothing further seemed to happen, and so she hadn't spent more than a moment or two at the school before moving on.
She was meandering, really, with no specific destination in mind; she might go to Heme later, but the evening was young, not even full night yet, and she was enjoying the walk, half her mind on organizing mental to-do lists and personal business, the other half keeping an eye out for anyone who might look like a tasty snack. She came up on the church and, out of habit, started to immediately cross the street, but she halted in mid-step when she realized she wasn't feeling any of the nasty effects that usually came from hallowed ground and holy objects.
It was enough to get her curious, and she cautiously stepped closer to the church, moving slowly as she waited for her body to start feeling the holy that should be permeating the area. But there was nothing, and before she knew it, she was up the walkway and stepping into the church. She found herself looking around, green eyes wide with a faint wonder that looked especially childlike on her. Holy objects everywhere, and she didn't feel a thing. It didn't take long to realize that, for whatever reason, the church had been desecrated and was no longer holy. Ava perched on the arm of a pew, pulling a hymnal out of the back of the pew in front of it, and started to laugh.
