But I don't want to be on the menu Who: Dalila, Darklis, Lumen and Pancho Where: The Family That Slays Together; Edition Sewers When: Directly after this
Pancho's existence had been wiped from Dalila's mind as her emotions had started to tumble; and even if it had not been then it would have gone when Lumen had taken her face into her hands and told her that she had this. The tears that were lingering just behind her eyelids stayed there instead of falling and she gave the slightest of nods. Lumen's thoughts were not quite like they normally were - the vampire's blood rolling through her system might have something to do with that - but they were still the most familiar in this place and she latched onto them, blocking everything out except for that one little thing. And from that one little thing it became easier to bring other things in. Like Darklis when her thoughts turned towards her. Girlfriend. What? There were rednecks out there who wanted to eat them for dessert and she was feeling herself fighting back a grin because she could hear what Darklis was thinking. Another little piece to help her tug herself together enough to respond when a finger was crooked at her to come closer. "We'll be fine," she agreed quietly, knowing Darklis would still hear, her hand somehow finding one of the vampire's and squeezing it tight before adding, "You can think of me however you want." It was a nice, pleasant little thing to keep in the back of her mind, enough to keep her from wanting to cry so bad at the reality of their situation.
The one that should not be real.
The one where she was probably going to get thrown over someone's shoulder so they could make a break for it. A plan she was about to voice an opinion on - one that said if it happened they told no one, especially not Rico - when the floor just dropped. Dalila was sure that she screamed. Or started to before she bit down on her lip so hard it started to bleed to shut herself up. All of which happened in a flash because suddenly... suddenly... she was gagging. No, no that was past gagging, the bile was welling up and splashing out because of the smell mixed in just with knowing that she had tumbled - and ruined my dress!!! - into a sewer. It hardly mattered that she was not covered in it because seriously?! She was standing in a room covered in shit. And! Because it was worse! It was the redneck's outhouse. So there were probably bits of people... all around...
Dalila could have thrown up everything she had ever eaten and still not felt like she was done; but there were new thoughts in her head all of a sudden. New 'voices', so to speak, and they were way too excited. None of the others were even remotely happy and when Dalila managed to push her hair back from her eyes - a feat only because she was trying desperately to not touch her face in a futile attempt to not feel completely disgusting and keep one more strand of a grip on sanity - she saw where they were coming from. "There, there, oh my god, there's more of them!" Her hand jerked out in an attempt to find Darklis or Lumen or anyone. In part just to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were there, but also because her legs were aching from the force of the impact and if they were about to run she was not going to be left behind.
God knew she did not want to die in the septic tank of cannibalistic rednecks.
