Though she may not have had hearing as strong as other weres, Roxy still heard the mumble. Her mind jumped to the obvious conclusion: that even touching Erin through her jacket had caused her to have another vision. Hearing Erin say so only confirmed it. Roxy had never considered life being anything other than a were, but in this moment she suddenly wondered how things would be different to be clairsentient. She knew that for some (Alanna sprang to mind) it was a hard burden to bear, but Erin seemed to be coping with life relatively well – at least she appeared to be until this barrier threw a kink in the system. “Horror movies?” Somehow Roxy didn’t think that it was visions of bad actors running around, dying in comical ways. “Are they connected to the things you touch?” She bit her lip a little, suddenly concerned that maybe she shouldn’t keep badgering Erin with questions about the horrible visions.
“Okay, so distance is definitely a no go. Want to try touching it again?” Roxy looked around them at the guards who were standing close by. Despite the fact that they had been standing there for longer than a quick look-see should take, no one seemed to be paying them much mind – at least for the time being and Roxy hoped it stayed that way. “I don’t think anyone would stop us from going back to it.” She really wasn’t sure what to do at this point. Typically, when faced with a problem, Roxy ran at the thing head on until she was able to sort it all out. She felt stuck, trying to solve an unsolvable problem. A sobering thought suddenly hit her: What if Erin’s powers were stuck this way? A worried hand began tugging at a small strand of hair and twirling it around her finger.
