Everything would shine
Who: Aurora and Winifred
Where: Music store in SO
When: Early afternoon
Aurora loved music. The reason was not only that she needed to sing in order to call the wind and have full access to the element that she adored more than anything but her family, but just the sheer feel that went with the sound of it. People could convey emotions with music that simple words would never be able to do. And that was even without figuring in the instruments that went along with it. Aurora could sit somewhere and listen to music all day long. In fact, ever since she had gone through that ordeal with that terrible little child she had worked her way through every CD that her family owned. When that had happened she had not even needed to ask. Her mother had come up to her and said that they were going to go buy new CDs so that she had something to keep her occupied. Something soothing. And even though she could not see, it hardly mattered here. Diana had guided her to the headphones and handed her a stack of CDs to scan so that she could listen and pick out which ones she liked. Every time that she ran low there were new ones sitting there, waiting for her to carry on with. The air elemental was actually enjoying herself and after a bit she began to sing along softly.
She did not mean to call up a tiny wind that went breezing through the store, sending little stacks of paper whirling while people here and there lost small receipts that they had just been given. And she still did not realize what was happening - she could not hear the little sounds of discontent others were making, much less see what was going on around her - she just kept bobbing her head up and down while she sang softly.
When that song had finished, it was one of the ones she liked so it went onto the small pile to her right, Aurora picked up another one and slid it under the small machine her mother had worked out how to operate. So long as she did not actually touch it, it did not seem that she was going to make it give off little sparks that would make it stop working. That had happened more than once when she was living at Ad Gustum with Aetheria and it always made her sad to realize that she had accidentally ruined something that someone else probably liked. Should she ruin this then she might well burst into tears and run off to apologize to the owners and beg to be allowed to make it right. She was getting a little anxious just thinking about it and had half-started to turn to call for her mother to make sure she had not even damaged the machine in the slightest. But in that half-turn she felt herself collide with something warm and solid. Had the headphones been off then chances were she would have heard the person, but as it stood... she heard nothing and the CD case that she had been holding went flying and she stumbled back into the display case. "...ow..."
