Lauren had been starting to think the tattoo business was cursed in Scarlet Oak - first Wildfire had been destroyed, then the replacement shop she'd thought was setting up had fallen through, as well. Thankfully, though, The Painted Bird had opened its doors, and so far, things were going well. Lauren was more or less free to set her schedule and the best part was that she didn't have to worry about the business end of the shop - just her art. She'd learned from Wildfire that while she wasn't bad at running a shop, it wasn't something she particularly enjoyed. It was a slow day at the shop, so she'd set up in a chair near the front with her sketchbook. She wasn't working on anything in particular, just a few random little doodles that came to mind. They might end up turning into a flash set, if she kept on with the theme; while Lauren disliked flash in the sense that it meant numerous people likely ended up getting the same thing, she couldn't deny that it sold well, which in turn helped pay the bills.
She glanced up briefly when the woman walked into the shop; she was basically the only client, but since she went straight to the flash books, Lauren decided to let her look for a bit before offering a hand. She kept doodling until she heard the woman ask a question. Getting up and setting her sketchbook aside, she ambled over to lean against the counter. "Well, there's not really a right or a wrong place for a first tattoo," she said. "A lot of it depends on what you want to get and whether it'll fit where you want it. And whether or not you want it to be hidden, or at least hide-able. Most popular spots are usually ankles, hips, or the back." She glanced at the flash sheet. "Any ideas on what sort of design you're looking for?"
