Faith was waiting for the man to get a hint and go away when he shocked her by using her name. And it showed that she was not expecting that because she tilted her small head to the side and let out a little sneeze. Okay, he knew her based off her scent... made sense for were's. All that Faith had to do was stop and think for a moment because she did have a rather amazing memory and... okay, it was like she could see it. Stepping across this man at that damn party she had not wanted to go to and being introduced by someone who knew both of them and thought it was necessary for everyone to know everyone else. Faith was not of that belief, but she did her best to smile and go with it, especially since it was a meet and greet. Causing strike in the work environment was more Frankie's style than her own, unless a lamiae was involved. Or maybe a were-snake. Faith may not actively hunt and kill the latter, but her inner mongoose did not know that. A snake was a snake and - oh! Chase Willoughby. The thought came and she nodded her head, a moment before he actually went and reintroduced himself. She was going to have to tell him how unnecessary that was, it had just taken her a moment. That she had made it a question herself was irrelevant.
This time she pointed her paw at Chase and then at his feet and gave hers a stamp. She thought it was an obvious stay there as she turned and darted back for the bench where she had left her clothes. A quick sniff revealed that there was a were-elephant a few yards back past those trees - duh - and a couple of regular-smelling humans out in that open area she had passed. Probably undergrads playing ultimate frisbee or whatever it was. She had snorted over the name of that so many times; it was as 'ultimate' as putting cheese on your french fries was exploratory eating. A quick shift and she tugged her clothes back on. She had been doing this for so long that she had turned it into what she called a fine art and hardly three minutes had passed before she was ducking back through the trees, bag slung over her shoulder, and sticking her hand out towards Chase. She practically jabbed him in the chest with it, yes, but it was hardly like she was going to hurt him. He was a fucking elephant. Frankie might like meeting him for that reason alone.
"Don't worry, it was just a regular snake, I didn't eat a person or anything." Her smile was easy and wide, inviting him to join in on the joke that was not really a joke. Faith would have eaten it if it had been a lamiae just the same and someone out there probably considered the things to be people. "Nice to meet you again, Professor Willoughby. Normally I'd have invited you to join me for lunch, but I doubt you'd have accepted. Maybe next time."
