Faith did not stop chewing after she hissed at the man. Why should she? She had gone and caught this snake fair and square, it was a supplement to her terrible lunch and she was going to finish it. Finish it? I thought I was going to take part home to Frankie. But as she sat there, gnawing, she realized that it would only go bad if she waited throughout the day. Even if she put it in the fridge it would still not be anywhere near as good as it was right then. Frankie would not want that. No, her girlfriend would much prefer that she finished it right then while it was still fresh and good. Even if - oh good, he was looking away. But Faith kept her eyes locked on him while she chewed. Not to study him so much as because her mongoose-side insisted that she must. There was no smell of a predator about him, but he could still try to snatch her prey away. There is something familiar about that scent... He was definitely a were. She recognized that and on top of it, she recognized the animal, one that was nowhere near native to this part of the world. Elephant? Elephant.
Goddamn she had never met a were-elephant before. But had she... yes, she thought she might have caught a whiff of it somewhere in the university while she was walking between buildings. Judging off the apparent age of the man that made him a professor. Of what? An inferior subject, clearly. Anything that was not in the realm of herpetology was inferior, though other sciences could possibly count as 'almost good enough'. Had he been in her field, though, Faith would have recognized him on sight. She was not what one could call 'friendly' with the rest of her colleagues, but at least she recognized them.
Usually.
Her appetite mostly sated, Faith tossed the mutilated corpse to the side and stalked up to the man. Currently he was way bigger than her, but the way that she walked said that she did not care. She was a mongoose; what the hell was she afraid of? Settling back on her haunches she flashed her teeth in a grin and pointed one small leg up at him, squeaking as she did. She wanted him to tell her who he was. He clearly knew what she was if he was a were, he could smell it on her.
