Bonnie acted instinctively, pulling Liam into her arms the way she might have a small child. In reality there wasn't that great an age difference between herself and Liam - just barely two years. But she'd always felt particularly protective over Liam, and okay, yes, maternal. She had been the one to make his school lunches, she had been the one to make his dinners, she had been the one who took care of him when Ryan and Dex were still doing their jobs as a duo, and dammit, she couldn't help the way she felt.
She was also feeling, for the record, freaked the fuck out. She didn't understand half of what Liam was saying. The school part, okay, maybe that made sense. Everything else? Nope. Nadda. And her first instinct was to shake her baby brother silly and demand what the fuck he took. "Liam, honey, just breathe, okay? Just... just breathe right now, we'll figure the other shit out later."
