It was an uphill battle for now, Jo knew, but still for her own peace of mind (and hopefully so Sam could step away from his conditioned behavior) she liked to make it clear that nothing she asked him to do would ever be a demand. A plea, maybe, she might even add cherries on top if she didn't think that would confuse him, but never a demand. His little head shake tugged at the corners of Jo's lips again, and, with a smile, she nodded in return. "Thanks, I appreciate it." And yes, he would be doing her a huge favor being her 'model'.
Jo wasn't certain, but she could not conceive of any plausible reason for Sam to ever leave. Though maybe that sounded a bit too final. 'Not ever' could be such a long time, it would be foolish to make that kind of assumption. 'For the foreseeable future' was what she went with in her head. She hoped he didn't want to leave, and hoped no one wanted him to. Her family, at least, seemed to be warming up to him. She certainly was. In the end Jo realized this was more a hope formulated out loud to make it stick, and that was okay. She had been all set-up to relinquish her hold on the drawing when Sam hesitated. This time it was her brow that furrowed in confusion, though it only lasted a moment until he grabbed it fully. Seeing him smile melted her heart a little bit, and Jo found herself smiling back even though he wasn't remotely looking at her. He was looking at her drawing, something she had made for him, and that was just...great. It had only lasted a few moments, but it had provided Jo with much needed warmth. And God, how she craved that at the moment. "Want me to drive you home?" Came her voice, finally, once she had talked herself out of staring at the poor guy in front of her.
