The thing with Ryan was that not only did he not give ten fucks what made other people uncomfortable (if they weren't family), he also enjoyed watching people squirm. While he didn't fully remember Kajsa, if they knew each other through Danny and ran in the same circles she couldn't exactly be a blushing virgin herself. He wondered what had happened to make her look so distraught at the images he was putting in her mind. Then, he realized he didn't really care.
"Any other?!" He asked, wondering just what she'd meant by that. Not that he judged, or anything, but the 'any other' category sounded too damn complicated. "Will do." He finally acceded. Not that it was likely to ever happen again, not after last time with the whore with the broken teeth. He wiped the thought from his mind as he took Kajsa's paper, eyeing it quickly before looking back up at her. The idea of a contract was a little weird to him still, but he was getting paid well enough to shut the hell up and go with it. From now on, on paper and to Kajsa's family, he was the rascal who had impregnated her and actually cared.
...Cared. In front of her family.
Abruptly, Ryan sat forward in his chair. "We have to act all lovey-dovey at family reunions, right?" Not that he wasn't okay with that notion, but truth be told she felt a little too...cold for him.
Bitch I am literally cold blooded and I'm your familiar, quit acting like it matters that much said the snake in Ryan's mind.
Yeah well I don't have to fuck you. Or pretend to anyway. replied Ryan with an eyeroll. Plus she has water in her genes, plenty of it. the snake made a drawn out "Oh" sound to show that he finally understood. Meanwhile his Element had been showing its disapproval at him tangling with so much water, but eventually conceded that it wasn't as bad as if he'd suddenly moved to a tiny island or went to live in a boat off the coast.
"As for the other things, I'll make a list, you make a list, we'll exchange lists and go from there, how about?" This was going to be a bloodbath. Not a literal one, mind you, but he was just anticipating immeasurable need for warmth after one of these fated family reunions. When she said she needed to leave Ryan stood up, ever the polite host, and motioned for the door. "Right, I'm sorry about your mom. You go take care of your family." At least they saw eye to eye on that, apparently.
