A nervous giggle tickled Kajsa's throat but she forced it down. This snake definitely swore a lot more than Strike, who she wasn't sure even knew any swear words. She'd been called 'Blondie' her entire life but it felt really odd coming from a snake. Telepathically or otherwise. Ryan apologized for Jack the snake but Kajsa shook her head. He hadn't really been all too bad in comparison to other people Kajsa had willingly socialized with in the past.
At Ryan's request, Kajsa had kept talking while he wasn't in the room. She wasn't sure if he heard or not, but then he'd apologized for her mother and Valterri so she assumed he'd heard most of it. Valterri, the one other sibling who understood what it was like to be on the outside. But that was beside the point right now. Tapping her manicured nails on her purse, Kajsa shook her head again. "He's a non-issue, I promise you." She couldn't really promise that if she were to be honest with herself but she'd clearly left him in Finland and he'd let her go. She'd assumed it was a one-night stand and there was no way he would know. No possible way, especially when she had only just found out. "Essentially..." Kajsa trailed off as she was reminded of Linnea and the tough situation she'd put her mother in...she needed to get back to the house. Satu and Dagmar would need her. Not that they would ask or say anything, but she wanted to be there for them. She was the older sister.
When he asked for specifics, Kajsa took a second. "Show up to family dinners once in a while, I suppose," she told him. "I don't think my mother would expect too much. I'll leave the house once in a while and tell her it's a date. You don't have to actually be there. Maybe just pick me up from home and drop me off downtown," she clarified. "I'll spend the night in a hotel in Detroit. I'll pay you what we both think is fair." What exactly was the going rate for this sort of thing? Kajsa didn't know. She hesitated to tell him that she really wanted to tell her mother that Ryan was the father and that they had reunited, but she'd wait to see if she could get Ryan to even be all right with the rest of the plan before she breached that topic. She eyed the snake. 'You keep that to yourself or I will stick you in an ice bucket.' Kajsa normally wasn't this vicious. That was more Dagmar's style. She wasn't really sure. She'd never had a proper boyfriend. "I'll buy myself presents. Tell my mom it was you. That sort of thing."
