Within the close physical space they shared Odin's words took on almost an entirely new meaning in Bella's head, and she was certain that yes, yes she could learn quite a lot from him. The thought also embarrassed her a little and she really hoped Flora had made good and flown out of range.
Bella, blissfully unaware of the things Odin was seeing, was just well and truly losing herself when he pulled away. She found herself leaning in his wake, and then blinking stupidly at the question. What? What had just happened? Her lips parted in confusion, and she tried to make her brain catch up with the situation her body was currently in. "Did he? Did who-" Oh. Bella winced and closed her eyes. She really, really didn't want Odin seeing her with Rufus. The idea was mortifying. Her face was turning red again, and she shifted back to lean awkwardly against the counter. "No," she answered, even if that might not have been true in every passing form. "He didn't take well to being dumped," she gave him. "He wasn't the sort of boy who had ever heard no before, and, well...!" Bella started chewing her pinkie nail as she tried to figure out how to explain it. Something about Rufus never, ever felt right, but she had nothing to back it up with. "He heard it from me, and that was that." It was more than that, though. He'd ruined high school for her. She still hated to see him in the streets.
She was scared of him, and she didn't know why. And she really didn't want to be on this subject anymore.
