When Bella shifted Odin looked down at her, an adoring smile on his face. She was even lovelier in his arms, if such a thing was possible. This all felt right and yet there was that gnawing thought at the back of his mind, that he shouldn't be getting this attached when there was every possibility of an eternity without her after. It wasn't that kind of love yet, but Odin couldn't help but wonder if it would ever be - and if so, what would he do when she started aging and he stayed the same? What would he do when she eventually died? Not to mention, Bella might not want to build a life with an eternal being who doesn't abide by the laws of time. Odin didn't know which was worse. Perhaps he was moving too fast in his mind. Perhaps he needed to have a good talk with his twin about it in the near future. For now he pleaded with himself to let that go and enjoy himself, at least for the time being.
Just as he decided on putting his thoughts behind him Bella announced that there was someone who wanted to meet him. odin's eyes widened in curiosity. "Oh, by all means, I'd love to meet her. I haven't got one, but I hope it's a matter of time." Then he realized the stupid, stupid thing he'd said. Psychics weren't supposed to have familiars. "...I mean, a man can dream." He looked away, licking his lips. "But yes," he continued after a while, "I'd really like to meet your familiar." With a smile, Odin laid a kiss on Bella's forehead.
