This could all be very dangerous, Bella told herself again. Because... was she hungry? She was having a really hard time figuring that out. She was so emotionally swept away that little things like hunger seemed far away. She was going to have to try and figure out ways to center herself, and she really didn't want to. Odin had basically confirmed they could stay just like this if she wanted, and he didn't seem in any hurry himself. So, so dangerous.
I feel like a giddy teenager, she thought.
I think you're probably acting like one, came the response of Flora in her head. A normal teenager, who didn't date a probable sociopath, and spend the rest of her teenage years and early college years pining over her best friend.
Augh. The reminder of Alex centered Bella, alright. She didn't like thinking about Alex right now. Not at all. That just felt... weird. Like Alex and Odin didn't belong in the same space. Couldn't possess her mind or emotions at the same time. Bella also realized that in no way was that... right. She was going to have to think about that later. A lot.
I didn't mean it as a bad thing, Flora huffed. Bella ignored her. She shifted slightly, so that she could turn her face up towards Odin's without her head actually leaving his shoulder. "I don't know if I'm hungry," she admitted. "Probably going to need a minute to figure that out." She closed her eyes and braced herself. "And at some point, my familiar wants to meet you. I told her she had to stay away, but she's poking into my head, and I'd at least like you to know she exists." Was introducing the familiar too soon? It was kind of like introducing him to the family, but... totally different, at the same time. Bella always felt the need to make people aware of her familiar because, at the very least, it explained some of the times she mentally checked out as the times when Flora was being loud in her head.
