Will was lost. As one of the few teachers who hadn't been a chaperone at the homecoming dance, it wasn't like he had any idea what was going on inside. Hell, the night before he'd been home, watching football and drinking beer, like he'd be doing on any Sunday night. But then the phone call came and everyone gathered around the school to wait for news and... nothing happened. At all. And then some more nothing. He had no idea what they were supposed to do now.
Make no mistake, Will was worried. Those were his colleagues in there, his friends, his students, his team. He felt like he should have some great plan to help, but he didn't. Just talking to families, grabbing food and water and such when he could, didn't feel like enough. At least someone had the sense to tell him not to charge into said invisible wall himself, as he'd only get hurt, and it had already been done. He didn't want to burden anyone with how down he was feeling about the whole thing, but the feeling was still there.
He caught sight of another woman around, helping out as well. He gave her a little smile and a wave. "Hey, do you need anything?" he asked. Might as well try to keep busy, find something to distract him. With Will, that usually didn't take too much.
