Oh no, he did not like the looks of that. He had been on the receiving end of Tanith's magic before. A bullet was one thing. A bullet could be seen by a vampire at high speed. It was as easy to step away from as a falling snowflake. But her magic? That was unpredictable. The one time she'd used a spell on him he'd felt as if he'd been hit by a speeding truck. She might not use that spell again, but she wouldn't have to. He did not doubt she had worse in her arsenal.
Alright. That was it, then. The game was over. He could not hope to dodge the spell, but he could try to stop her from casting it. All at once, Alistair left his body. He put all of his focus and concentration into projecting at his side. Normally, when one of his line astral projected, their spirit form could not be seen. It was only with practice and great skill that this was possible. Alistair had accomplished this before, though it wasn't something he did often. All the same, he had no trouble whatsoever manifesting a cloudy form of himself on the other side of those bars. At Tanith's side.
"You don't want to do that," he warned her. All the amusement was gone from his voice.
