Maybe it would be sooner than fifteen minutes after all, he realised, as he caught sight of movement headed their way out of the corner of his eye, turning his head to see his partner drifting towards them through the crowd. The other paramedic had been keeping an eye on things closer to the school and if he was heading back to the ambulance then there was only one reason for that, especially with the way he was holding his radio in his hand.
Sliding easily down from the ambulance he held a hand up to her to help her down from the back of the bus, his other hand going to her waist once she was on her feet on the ground again. "Sounds good to me," he said to her, leaning in to give her a kiss, brief and light but sincere and affectionate all the same. "I'll be a few minutes," he told her when he pulled back, turning his head to look at his partner as the other paramedic stepped clear of the bodies nearby to join them. "I'll help clear up here and meet you there." Trent would help his partner get everything squared away and offer to repay his fellow paramedic somehow for driving the ambulance back by himself before meeting with Venus. Given the state of things their boss would understand if only one of them brought the ambulance back to the station and all things considered that was the least of Trent's worries right then.
