Trent's smile grew when she told him she liked the idea. Spending any kind of time with Venus was time went spent in his book, but at a time like this when any kind of comfort could make a big difference he couldn't think of anything he would rather do. Oh, there were things he wished he could do, but since he couldn't pound his way past that invisible forcefield keeping the school's occupants in and everyone else out it wasn't worth wasting time getting frustrated about them. That didn't mean he wasn't frustrated, how could he be anything else when some of his own family were trapped within those walls with no way out? It made him anxious and upset in a way very few people could assuage and Venus was one of those few. If anything she was the best when it came to helping Trent feel calmer and more at ease, and spending time with her would -- he hoped -- work wonders.
Tilting his head a little he conceded to her point. He'd seen her scry before, he'd watched her quietly and from a distance, silently fascinated by the process with many questions barrelling through his mind, none of which he had ever given voice to. Maybe one day he would ask those questions. His eyes narrowed when she told him she'd caught glimpsed and his gaze turned from her and he looked over towards the school, his mind racing. What had she seen? What had made her doubt it wasn't the interior of the school? Turning his wrist over to look at the face of his watch, he said, "I get off in about fifteen minutes." God, was it really that late? "We can head over to your place." If she had a car with her, that was. Trent hadn't driven to work that day, he hadn't trusted himself behind the wheel, and his partner could take care of the handing-over of the ambulance to the next pair of paramedics.
