The expression on Venus' face was a soft reflection of her fiance's. A gentle and small smile, a hint of warmth in her eyes. "I'd like that," she said, and that was quite true. She would have never asked him to come with her - she would never dream of asking him to come away from his family. She knew better. She could and would demand that he slept, and if he refused or found himself incapable she was not above drugging him if she had to. Perhaps not the noblest of ideas, but she'd do it. Yet still she drew the line at asking him to leave his pack in this time of need for any amount of time. Trent offering just made it all so much easier.
"I've scried with you in the apartment before," she said. "It's natural to me, I just can't do it here. The few times I did manage to get glimpses here they were only seconds long and possible to comprehend. I don't even know if what I was seeing was inside the school or not." In truth, Venus thought probably not. The idea that she could simply scry inside seemed far too easy, but she had to try all the same. "It's too loud here. Too many sounds, too many people, too many distractions, too many emotions... I need to be in an environment I can control." She couldn't control this one. She could act like she owned the place all she liked, but she was no more in control here than she was inside that damned school.
