Venus was the sort of person who walked into any space feeling as if she owned the place. Always had been that way, and perhaps it was one of the details of her personality that made her well-suited to her line of work. Most people encountered a place or a group where they just felt out of place and uncomfortable at least once in a while. Venus had never once felt that way in her life... until she'd started dating Trent and had been introduced to the pack. That uncomfortable 'don't belong' sort of feeling was still just as alien to her now as it had been years ago. At any rate, she had no issue whatsoever with climbing up into the ambulance and making herself comfortable. As comfortable as one could ever be in an ambulance, anyway. She sat back on the stretcher, at least resisting the urge to lay down and take a nap. God, that was a tempting thought. If she'd realized this was Trent's ambulance she probably would have done that hours ago.
"Of course you do," Venus agreed, easily. "I wasn't saying I was surprised." Because she wasn't. Trent was just as much a workaholic as she was, but more than that, Trent couldn't help from wanting to help. Being in this situation, with there being absolutely nothing that he could do, was probably a very special sort of hell. "Have you slept at all since last night?"
