This is morning Who: Athena and Isis Where: Scarlet Oak Public Library When: Midmorning
Athena didn't mind the Sunday morning shift at the library. Unless she was on a hunt, it wasn't like she stayed out late on Saturday nights. Going out with Halne was one thing, but she hadn't seen the vampire since their little stint out in Ann Arbor. At least the night ended on a much better note than it could have, and that brought a smile to the siren's face. Of course, if the man that dared to try and mug them ever crossed her path again, Athena wouldn't hesitate to kill him this time. She just wouldn't tell Halne about the encounter. But that those were thoughts for another time, when she wasn't working her legal, legitimate job. It was hard enough not to keep from thinking about Halne, but at least she could blame those thoughts on daydreaming, rather than plotting to kill a man.
Her heels clicked across the floor as Athena went about her business, restocking books in the children's section. Some of the kids here she recognized, and she gave them a smile as she walked by. Ever the bookworm, Athena did truly love what she did, even though they would never know everything about her. It was so rare that anyone did. There was Sierra, of course, the big sister who was still missing, and still not answering her phone... again, something to think about at another time. She was heading towards the information desk when one of her coworkers flagged her down. "Someone's here looking for you," the woman said.
Athena raised an eyebrow. She could count the number of people who might show up on one hand. Maybe it was Halne, or Carter? "Who is it?"
"Must be one of the kids from storytime, I don't know her name." The other woman shrugged. "Asked for you, though."
Okay, now Athena was confused. Nodding her thanks, she set down her stack of books on the desk as she made her way towards where the girl was standing. "Can I help you?" she called, accent a little thicker in the moment than she'd intended.
