And all who still remain are whispering in the dark Who: Tanith and open! When: 11:30 or so Where: Outside the high school
By the time Tanith got there the place was already swarming with cops, and it seemed like a set of parents was showing up every sixty seconds or so. The entire property was being surrounded by police tape, and from a distance, that in itself was bad, but didn't seem so fucking insane. It was when she got closer and she realized they were plastering it on what appeared to be thin air that she realized the bottom had well and truly dropped out. She overheard enough to confirm her suspicions. Invisible barrier. No one could get in, presumably no one could get out. That last one was a total guess, because everyone inside was incommunicado.
The police were trying to keep everyone away from the 'barrier' itself, but at that point there were still too few officers to entirely surround the property. Tanith parked her bike across the street, and started walking around on foot. When she neared the back entrance, she hopped a police barricade and walked with one hand extended to find the block. It didn't take long for her hand to flatten against it. This is fucked up, she thought. MacKenna's familiar took off at a run, needing to confirm it for himself that it went all the way around. Tanith didn't stop him.
Eztli stopped at her side and looked up at her. "Ever heard of anything like this before?"
Tanith shook her head. "This isn't a ward," she said. "It's a fucking wall."
