Lotti was absolutely right, this wasn't the time or the place but man it was funny. And Brian didn't do well with high pressure situations if he couldn't joke while going through them. "How do you plan on getting me back exactly, and does it involve furry handcuffs please?" He whispered to her, winking. But Lotti was giving as good as she got, and Brian had to respect that. "Promises, promises..."
Brian didn't particularly like the girl, she was as loud inside her own mind as she was out of it and it drove him a bit nuts, but still. This was freaky as hell and not exactly how he'd hoped things would go. "Fuck knows, I didn't even hear anything, one second she was thinking and the next..." Rowan's outburst about not being guilty earned her a look as if she'd gone completely balls-out. "Alright you're good but you're not that good. Are you? If you are can I pay you to make my dad disappear?" While Brian didn't know Hyemi well enough to know whether or not she'd just bail that explanation was better than the one where she'd been muted and dragged away by whatever the hell lurked around them. "Well she's some kind of lizard I'd say she'd be right at home in this fucked up environment. Must be cool." He mused, listlessly. "No cold or anything..."
Both Lotti and Rowan's resolve snapped him out of it. "Right yeah move." He pointed the flashlight ahead of his body, since he'd gotten a little turned around in the dark. "Let's not call out for her, though, in case, you know, whatever's out there hears us. Not that it wouldn't now, but still." He shrugged and started walking.
