Holding Niamh gently, he tried to help her up to her feet. She noticed what the words on the map were before he could get her up, however, and Max was not pleased by the results. He'd never heard of the place before, which told him they weren't anywhere near Scarlet Oak. He had made it a point to know everything relevant about Ann Arbor and most cities surrounding it and he would have certainly known about a place called St. Dymphna's, especially if it was an institution for the criminally insane. Especially since institutions of the sort were, to the best of Max's knowledge, illegal now. There were all sorts of new rulings regarding the treatment and care of people with mental health issues. "Unless this is a mass hallucination, you're not reading it wrong," Max responded to Niamh's question, trying to get her to her feet. A quick glance was directed at the blonde in the corner, who only seemed to be getting worse, and Charlie, who was trying to console her. The way out was obviously only possible by leaving the bunker and part of Max wanted to leave any useless baggage, meaning the new girl could stay here and die for all he cared.
And there went Lily. Trying not to comment in case it was just a fluke, Max pretended he didn't see Lily just completely get thrown off balance. There were really more pressing issues at the moment, as far as Max was concerned. First, taking care of himself and then taking care of his date. He wasn't sure it would be exactly great for his future political campaign if he didn't at least save his date from death. Poor story that would make. He supposed the more of them survived, the better the story would be for all them. Great. Baggage. He was just about to respond to Lily's inane question when Rico's comment about the radio stopped him cold. Looking over at the ancient thing, Max listened intently. Haunted asylum, magical properties, demented clergyman...Max looked around at his companions. Was anyone else buying this? Because it smelled like a set-up to Max. A horrible, demented set-up a la Saw, but it seemed pretty freaking surreal at this point.
