It wasn't too difficult for Farren to pay attention to both what she was doing and how Sam was doing in the game. Once the horde of zombies arrived both screens were a flurry of bullets and exploding heads, so it was difficult to see who was shooting what, but as it thinned out, Farren noticed a couple of nice shots that were not her doing. "Looks like you're getting the hang of it," which was about as close to a compliment as she could come at the moment. Once the horde had finished it's business, she directed her character to keep moving through the apartments. She heard a distinctive gurgling sound from the game and she tilted her head slightly to gesture to Sam. "There's a boomer somewhere ahead, so keep an eye out. If he gets too close he'll vom on you. He does that too if you shoot him while he's next to you. Always a good idea to punch 'em back and then shoot. The bile or whatever makes it hard to see and zombies kind of rush you right after."
She was a little shocked when Sam just went right along with the conversation without any qualms, or so it seemed. Most of the time when she spoke to people and asked questions like 'why are you here?' she was met with hesitation and obvious discomfort. Not in this case and she was glad for the refreshing change. It made things so much simpler when people could just cut out all the bullshit and just talk, say what they were thinking without any worry of offending someone else. At least, that's how Farren felt about it and that's how she lived her life. Life was too short to get mad over something someone else said. "Huh," she commented, still focused on the game. "Wonder why they didn't like it. Their loss." She might have even have known of Sam's parents if she actually paid attention to pack politics, but she just couldn't be bothered. Sure, her brother was alpha and that was a pretty awesome fact, but the only sway it held over her was how she was treated within the pack. She didn't stop to think how lucky she was if someone else had been alpha; her deterrence towards mating might not have gone on nearly as long as it had already.
"That's cool, though, that you came here. I mean, if Auggie likes you, you've got to be alright. I mean, you did choose to come here, so at least we know you've got some good sense. Even if you have live a sheltered life." She pushed her character forward around a corner only to be pounced by a hunter. "Jesusshit, shoot it! Shoot it!" She urged.
