Farren didn't really expect Sam to retain everything that she had said nor did she expect him to really be ready when she asked, so she was a little surprised when he said that he was ready. She shrugged and started the game. Immediately the scene started, a helicopter flying over the city announcing that any survivors should head to the hospital, conveniently named Mercy. "So what you want to do is grab a health pack and a weapon. You have a single pistol to start off with, but you can choose a shotgun or a submachine gun. Your pistol never runs out of ammo, but it's good to have a variety." As she spoke, Farren directed her character to do as she said while also watching Sam's part of the screen to make sure he was keeping up. Once they were both outfitted with the things they needed, she pushed onward and opened a door down into the apartment building they were standing on top of.
"To start off with, the zombies just kind of stand around," she took out the first one that was standing in the hallway before proceeding down the stairs and glancing around the next corner. "You can take these guys out so you get a feel for it. They'll start running at you after a while." She picked up her glass of water and took a long drink before returning to the game. She really could have sat there and just focused on the game the whole time, but not knowing certain things about Sam was starting to bug her. Part of it might have been pure curiosity, but the rest of it was the fact that he was living under the same roof and she knew nothing beyond his name and the fact that August seemed to have liked him. Honestly, August's opinion meant more than she would ever let on and so she figured that Sam must have been an alright guy, even if he was so quiet.
"So what's your story? Why're you here?" She asked suddenly. This was Farren's version of small talk and not once did she glance over at Sam. She kept her dark eyes on the television, shooting zombies and checking out empty rooms when possible. Before Sam could answer she added, "Hear that music? That means a horde's coming. Put your back against the wall and just aim for the heads."
