I've been a good little worker bee Who: Simon and Lux Where: Simon's apartment When: Evening
The day Simon had to give Tabitha back to her mother never sat well with him. It wasn't like Jolene was a bad mother or anything, he just knew it would be a week before he'd see his daughter again. That was the shitty part about joint custody, for sure. It also meant his Friday night started by dealing with his ex-wife, and Simon didn't hide the fact that he didn't like the woman, he dealt with her for Tabitha's sake. That was what he told himself, anyway. Jolene knew he'd never leave Tabitha behind, and he knew she wanted the alimony too much to stop dealing with him. In this situation, nobody won.
He didn't feel like coming home to an empty apartment, and he didn't want to hang out at Cosmic Comics, either. The kids working tonight could more than handle the store, and he'd pick up whatever slack was left in the morning. So, Simon called Lux. He hadn't really seen her since before Troy had been attacked, and that was a damn shame. Simon had a few spells set up for Troy, too, whenever his friend wanted or needed them. Granted, grey magic was more unstable than most, but Simon would do what he could to help.
For now, though, he had what he needed - his best friend, a few cold beers, and an ample stash of weed. He was rolling a joint when he heard a knock at the door. "It's open!" he called. If it was Lux, she'd be let right in. The magic he had in place would boot anyone else.
