But a shimmer in your eyes just makes me know Who: Isaiah and Winifred Where: the Owl's Nest When: around 11:30-12:00, mid lunch-time rush
As enthusiastic as she had been when she'd been learning to be a hostess, Winifred had made a point of asking -- and kept asking -- when it was she would be allowed to train as a waitress. Granted, her injuries from the Broadway Bridge disaster were a huge factor in the delay, but seeing as she was almost completely healed up, there hadn't been an issue. Winifred had even gone so far as to load a bunch of heavy dishes onto one of the trays to prove that even though she still wore her ace bandage on her arm, it was more for stability than because her arm was on the verge of re-breaking. No, she'd more than proved she was ready to serve the guests and what was more, today was she was working at the same time as Isaiah. It certainly made concentrating on the customers and their orders a little challenging. She kept shooting Isaiah mischievous glances when she came back to the kitchen with the orders. He looked really, really good when he was in his element and she caught herself staring more than once, cheeks flushing when she remembered that she was not being paid to stare at her boyfriend, no matter how good she was at it.
She'd just picked up a particularly heavy tray to bring to a four-top in her small section (really, just the fact that she had her own section was awesome!) when she'd chosen the exact moment another waitress was putting in her table's order to try to navigate back towards the front of the house. Freezing to stop the collision, Winifred felt the tray slipping from her grip before she could do much in the way of righting it. "Oh..Oh, no! Look out!"
