I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve Who: Will and OPEN Where: Sandwich shop in town When: Late afternoon
Will couldn't remember if it was his turn to buy groceries or if it was Ben's. All he knew was that, when he opened the refrigerator that morning, there wasn't anything for lunch. Which meant it was probably his turn and Will had just forgotten, again. Relying on the school cafeteria for sustenance was disappointing, even for the guy who'd eat pretty much anything set in front of him. Really, they called that pizza when there were a handful of great places to get it in Scarlet Oak? Now that was just a tragedy. Instead, Will had just grabbed a Snickers bar from the vending machine and decided to get real food the moment he got out of work.
He was still in his clothes from work - he wasn't about to get all dressed up for Spirit Week if he could help it. One, it was impractical for his job, because like hell he was going to be able to play sports in some elaborate get up, and two, no. Just no. He did wear a Batman tee, as if that counted. Superman had been his favorite until his stepbrother convinced him to jump off the roof of the house with a towel as a cape, when they were kids. The broken arm hadn't been worth it and Batman was cooler anyway, so that was that. He was waiting in line, looking over his choices and trying to decide what to get, when he saw something flash out of the corner of his eye. The puppy in him couldn't help it, Will had to look and see what was going on - apparently just someone new coming into the store.
With a quick smile, he turned back to the menu. Now, the real struggle here was turkey versus roast beef. Decisions, decisions.
