If Jackson hadn't met Moriko and Inaki before today he would have been thrown by the whole thing but thanks to the Rogers' companions he had come to accept familiars in general. In a way they were useful for figuring out just who was a supernatural, after all normal humans didn't seem to have them, only those with abilities. Dimly he remembered the clash he'd had with another werewolf not long after arriving in town and the very real snake he'd seen the other male's car. At the time he'd just thought it strange but now that he knew a little more about familiars he suspected that was what the creature had been to the man. It was complicated, to him at least, even now, but he would learn more in time he was sure.
"Just one," Jackson confirmed with a subtle sort of smile that -- he hoped -- betrayed that he wasn't going to be discussing the subject any more at this time, at least not in length. There was a part of him mind trying to guess how Moriko would react to having another wolverine around but it was a thought process quickly derailed when the creature in Selena's lap sounded his indignation at the very notion.
"That would be an answer in and of itself," he reminded her, pushing one hand into his pocket in a casual manner. He wasn't picking up on any threatened behaviour from the woman and even if he did then he trusted his own reflexes to be able to duck or dodge out of the way in time. "That would be a length of time, after all."
