Who: Jackson and Selena (plus Percival!).
Where: Scarlet Oak park.
When: Late afternoon.
Getting back into the swing of things after the dojo had been so badly damaged and Troy had been so severely injured -- and shaken, no doubt; Jackson had been able to see that clearly enough after the dust had settled, there was no mistaking what effect the attack had had on the other man -- hadn’t been easy. The dissatisfaction that had settled in after his encounter with the vampire responsible for all the chaos wasn’t helping either, and though he’d headed out to the woods to run that morning Jackson still felt restless, filled with all kinds of negative buzzing energy that he just couldn’t get rid of. It made him feel tight and tense, both sensations he hated, and the more he thought about the whole situation the worse it became. A vicious cycle to say the least, and it was so much easier said than done when it came to putting the whole business out of his mind.
Maybe later he would have to contact Tessa and see how she was feeling about the whole thing, what she was doing to relieve the stress that was no doubt building up on her end. It had to be worse for her, Troy was her brother, the dojo was a big part of her life too, and part of Jackson was ashamed for thinking he had it so bad when things had to be so much rougher for her.
A shape low to the ground scurrying across the path disrupted his chain of thought and Jackson stopped, muscles tensing, always ready for a fight at the first sudden movement, following the form. A wolverine. After seeing one close up there was no mistaking it now and Jackson’s eyes narrowed as his brow furrowed, confusion taking hold as he watched the animal hurry along. Moriko? Here? But why?
As he left the path to follow the wolverine across the grass it didn’t even occur to him that there might be more than one wolverine in Scarlet Oak, that more than one supernatural might have found that particular animal wandering into their life in the form of a familiar. The association, for him, was so strong that he couldn’t help but follow, keeping a good five feet behind the animal. Just in case. Wolverines weren’t the most gentle mammal, after all, familiar or otherwise.
