Lately it's hard to keep the hinges on with all the noise Who: Adam and Holly Where: Coffee shop near the UoM campus When: Afternoon
Today was the perfect day, in Adam's opinion. It was nice enough outside to make him want to leave the confines of his office behind, he was mostly caught up on everything he had to grade, and his classes had been a joy to teach. Even his freshman English class, which made him want to pull his hair out more often than not, had gone smoothly. He couldn't ask for much more than that. Though he did have office hours later that evening, he had a few hours before he had to be stuck inside and he planned to make the best of it. So, after a quick stop by his office to grab his things - all of his novel work, as opposed to everything for his classes - he headed on out.
First things first, he needed something to eat, and probably a little caffeine to keep him going. There was a little coffee shop just outside of campus that also served a few light sandwiches, and that sounded perfect to him right now. Struggling to balance his overstuffed bag, his sandwich, and his drink, Adam was about to turn and head out when he spotted a familiar face off in the corner. "Holly!" he called, waving at her. They'd first met a little while back, when Adam found out that one of his books was to be translated, a fact that still amazed him. He'd just been grateful that he'd been published in the first place, much less have enough success to sell the book overseas. But then again, it was Adam, and he'd always been a little too modest when it came to his talents. He hadn't seen Holly in ages, but that was all right – he liked to think they were friends, or at least friendly enough, and he was curious to what she'd been up to. Adam was always curious about something. "How are you?"
