Venus had only been in the door a minute or two when the knock came. She'd come home from work, dropped her bag and sunglasses on the stand by the door, and had only just enough time to slide open the patio door to let Raphaela run outside and relieve herself. She was wondering how hard it could possibly be to teach a familiar to use the toilet - "Not on your life," Raphaela warned - when the knock came. Leaving the door open a few inches, Venus headed over to see who it was. She was half worried about another fae-relative showing up, but a quick look in the peephole showed August. Yes, August. Venus had no trouble telling them apart anymore - though she was pretty sure she'd embarrassed herself enough to make up for a lifetime in the beginning. Plus, on the rare occasion that she got drunk, she forgot the little tricks entirely.
She unlocked and opened the door, smiling brightly at her friend - and future brother-in-law. "Hey, buddy," she greeted. "Come on in. To what do I owe the pleasure?"
