"Pugsley, I promise on all things holy that Reggie does not have some weird fiend over. I'm sure it's just one of the girls' friends." Keelin was leaning against the counter with her arms crossed in front of her, looking down at the puppy as he tilted his head. He had already grown so much in the time since they met, he hardly seemed like the same puppy. But there were his large, brown eyes staring up at her expectantly. 'You don't know! You can't smell like I can! Why would he let someone come stay for so long! Their friends always go home after a while, bit it's late now and she's still over there! I need to make sure that they're alright!' Keelin rolled her eyes before pushing herself off of the counter. She peered into the living room, where the only light came from a small table lamp and the television. The latter was turned to some reality show involving toddlers prancing around in pageants; a show that Kahlan seemed very interested in... considering how loudly she was snoring. Keelin had considered changing the channel, or at least turning the television off and going to bed. Of course, that made sense seeing as she was already in her pajamas. But Pugsley's pleading won out and finally had her texting Reggie. Just in case, she figured. 'I'm telling you, something isn't quite right.' Keelin just arched an eyebrow at her familiar. "You know, I think you're just making stuff up so you can go see Sarah and Bess before I force you to go to bed." 'Nah man, not me!' Pugsley bounced onto his feet and his tail began to sway side to side before he ran towards the door. 'If you don't let me out, I'll find my own way!' While she assumed that Pugsley was getting too large to squeeze underneath the door, she wasn't quite ready to test that theory. So she decided to let him out herself. Stepping over towards the door, she shot another glance towards Kahlan. Her sister was curled up on the couch, a throw blanket half covering her, half falling to the floor. Kahlan's eyes were closed, but her mouth was slightly open, amplifying the sounds of the snores that were rumbling through her. A smirk tugged at the edge of Keelin's mouth as she pulled the door open. Pugsley darted through the door and across the hallway, his front paws immediately lifting up to scratch on Reggie's door. Keelin closed her door behind her and crossed the hallway. It wouldn't hurt to say hello, would it? |
