You're gonna be a grandmother. Surprise! WHO: Kajsa & Linnea WHERE: Home WHEN: Afternoon
There was photographic evidence now. Sure, when they'd called her and told her they'd done her bloodwork to check for pregnancy markers, she'd been worried, sick, even slightly maudlin. But, now, there was undeniable proof there was something living inside of her. She sat in the back of the cab as she stared down at the small photograph of her sonogram the entire way back to her family's home. Kajsa should have been able to drive about now, but she was still too shaky to even consider driving herself anywhere. And the stupor she was in...she would have probably driven off a bridge and killed herself. For real, this time. The cab driver cleared his throat again, snapping her out of her daze. She looked up and blinked thrice before she realized she was home. She rummaged through her bag and gave the man a $50. He was about to start complaining that he didn't have any change for her when she exited the vehicle. She waved a hand for him to keep it and then started for the house. Best to rip the bandage off, she guessed.
"Where's mom?" she asked the air once she was in. She didn't know if human or animal responded with a 'pool' but she nodded and headed off in that direction. Stepping outside again, Kajsa dropped into the poolside seat next to her mom and handed her the sonogram. "Congratulations, Grandma," she muttered, deadpan.
