It wasn't so much that Simon thought the other guy was odd. Shit, he wasn't all that normal himself, with crazy hair that was permanently spelled to stick up like it currently was, a master's in molecular biology that was gathering dust in his closet, and who now talked more about comics and his daughter than anything else going on in his life. He rolled with the punches and didn't take anything too seriously, a change in his life that he wished he'd made much earlier. Probably long before he thought marrying Jolene was a good idea. Not that he'd trade Tabitha for anything, he wouldn't, but still, the idea of not having a bitter ex-wife was a sweet one.
"An opinion," Simon said, shaking his head. "He's - well, he never learned to shut up."
You like me the way I am! If the salamander was capable of expressions, he could have sworn Charmander was pouting.
Simon could only sigh, looking up at the other man and trying to meet his eyes. "He's my familiar, pretty much goes everywhere with me. This is Charmander. I'm Simon."
