There has always been heartache and pain Who: Gavin and Orion Where: Kaleidoscope When: Early afternoon
Finally, Kaleidoscope was starting to look - and feel - like it should again. It wasn't that Gavin blamed his brother for what happened, not at all. Langston hadn't been in control of himself, it was his first full moon, and neither of them could have known what was coming for them. Waking up the next morning to find himself barricaded into Langston's room instead of his home, having no memory of how he got there, only that his arm had been throbbing and covered in dried blood... Gavin was trying not to think about that. Even after the wounds had healed and he knew that he too would always have to worry about the moons, trying to keep those around him safe from himself, it wasn't easy when the scars would always be right there. Or when he was starting to make a new friend in Brodie - or, at least, he hoped he could call them friends, sometimes things were so complicated that Gavin couldn't really tell - and something else cropped up. Like demons.
Sometimes, it was too much for him to handle, so in true Gavin fashion, he didn't. Instead, he focused on work. It had helped him out in the past, and it was doing just as well for him now. All of the pictures were now replaced on the studio's walls, giving him a chance to look them all over and pick out new ones for the coming winter. It was, of course, the time of year when all the high school seniors were getting their portraits done, as well as a few fall weddings, and Gavin wanted to showcase both. He was in the process of straightening out a few of the frames when he heard the door to the studio open behind him, followed by footsteps. The fact that he could hear everything now wasn't lost on him, and sometimes there was no getting used to it.
He glanced over his shoulder and gave the man a small smile. "Good afternoon," he said. "Let me know if I can help you with anything." He didn't have any appointments lined up in the next couple hours, so Gavin was free, and he didn't turn away business.
