Oh, Savvy might have liked the mass market places but she sure as hell couldn't afford them. No, people like her, people on budgets and with limitations, they had to seek out the little places like this, hidden gems with decent prices and pleasant proprietors who were willing to build relationships with their customers, especially those of the returning variety, and Savvy was most certainly intending to become of those. This place had some great stuff, she'd realised that only shortly after setting through the door her first visit not long after arriving in Scarlet Oak, and though she hadn't been able to pop in nearly as much as she might have liked. Between the job she'd moved to Michigan for in the first place eating up all her time and her monetary restrictions she was having to hold herself back. Majorly.
It really sucked.
Today though she felt she deserved to treat herself, she'd been hard at work and hadn't really splashed out in any way for a while now. Even when she'd been grocery shopping she'd only really indulged in the form of a box of Pop Tarts and they really weren't much, just a little extra sugar in her day. As much as she liked Pop Tarts, this was treating herself, digging through boxes and bins of all kinds of treasures and goodies just looking for something that was destined to come home with her. She'd been in the process of debating plonking herself down on the floor fully before the guy came along and she returned the smile easily, automatically but sincerely, making sure to keep from moving and bumping into him when he gave her that little warning. Savvy looked up, curiosity getting the better of her, getting a look at what he was pulling down. "I was starting to think I was the last person in the world who still uses brushes," she said, having no problem at all engaging a stranger in conversation, especially since this particular stranger seemed to be right up her alley, so to speak. "So many people are switching to those graphics tablets or whatever." Savvy pulled a face, not only because she couldn't imagine switching to something that took all the fun out of art, but because she couldn't even hope to afford something like that. Not for a long, long time anyway.
