Who: Teddy and Cels.
Where: A cyber café!
When: Late morning.
It was actually a little strange to Teddy to be surrounded by the sound of other people’s fingers tapping away at keyboards, at various speeds and efficiencies, strangers checking their emails and drafting college papers and finishing presentations for work that they were dreading. Every now and then he would lift his gaze to let it wander over the other tables -- the place was more or less full, he realised on his last scan, people were actually starting to double up where there was room -- just to take it in, to remind himself once again just how many others relied on the technology at their fingertips and all the access and freedom it granted them. Not one of them was on his level, that he didn’t doubt for a second, Teddy was capable of technological feats the likes of which these people couldn’t even fathom and he didn’t believe it arrogant to think so. It was never arrogant to acknowledge a truth, and Teddy knew for a fact that he was damned good at what he did, one of the best. He wouldn’t be a member of Omega if he wasn’t. Omega didn’t take just anyone, they were the best at what they did, the elite in many ways, and Teddy had never doubted that for a second.
The coffee in the cup beside him -- at a safe distance from the laptop’s edge, thank you very much; these idiots around him who nestled their drinks right beside their computers needed to learn their lesson the hard way as far as he was concerned -- had gone cold a while ago but he hadn’t come here for the caffeine anyway, an added bonus though it might be in the long run. His attention was well and truly on his work, his mind was right back on his task the second his eyes returned to his machine, and he worked as much with his mind and the powers at his disposal as he did with his hands. Teddy could do twice as much as anyone else around him in half the time and he couldn’t help the smile that crept onto his face when he remembered that.
How did these people even get anything done?
