That was more like it. Daphne smiled as if she had won some great prize, and waited for him to do whatever it was he needed to do. Really, she thought, it was quite the other way around - he was getting the opportunity to spend some time with her, and any man in his right mind would have fallen at her feet in gratitude. This one wasn't there yet, but she could get him there. Oh yes, she could do that.
For a moment, Daphne almost considered giving him her arm. She wrote this idea off almost immediately. For one thing, it was pretty old fashioned. For another, she thought his heart might explode, and the goal for the moment was to keep his blood flowing. If he proved utterly hopeless she could still just drain him and have done, but it'd be a bitter disappointment. She would work with what she had. Besides, she didn't mind a challenge. She settled instead for offering her hand. "I'm Daphne Evergreen," she introduced herself. If he shook her hand, he'd notice how cold she was, but would he put two and two together? Daphne wasn't sure. It might be easier on him than the jolt of seeing her fangs.
But she did so enjoy showing those off and shocking people. Oh well. She'd let fate decide.
