If other people's glares had ever had an effect on him then Joseph could not remember that time, and it was definitely not now. Now he was just pretty amused by the kid in front of him. God, he was glad that he was nothing like her. What would life have been like if he had been into teenage-hood and unable to do anything more than spark. And that looked like it took more effort than it should! Joseph had been able to do that back when he was just a kid. Had he been capable of it for someone that was not him, or maybe Daisy if the time was right, then he probably would have felt bad for whoever this was. Instead he just thought it was funny. Either she was one of those unfortunate's who had popped up in a family that had no idea what an elemental was and so they ended up not having any idea what to do. Or worse. "Kinda, yeah sure. Dad taught me." Dad had also beaten, ridiculed and all that mess him but hey, at least he got taught.
And Joseph laughed, yes full out laughed, when the girl sparked her hand. A spark. Brighter than before, yeah, but it was still just a spark. "Hey now Sparky," he managed to get out, still laughing. "Don't break something trying to be a flint." Because that was all low-level fire elementals were really good for. They could spark something up and hope that it caught fire, if it was really dry and really flammable then it might, but otherwise... they had to wait until they could struggle through or make due with outside forces that would bring their element. Joseph was so, so glad that he had left those days far behind him. Joseph did not react when he got nudged by the girl's elbow. "I can do everything." And he believed that. "Anything that deals with fire? I can do that. Oh and I can be fire." Joseph sniffed as he leaned back, feeling pretty good about himself. How often was there someone who was not Daisy wanting to know about what he could do? Not often enough. Not for how amazing his abilities were. The whole world should bow down at the collective feet of fire elementals just so that they did not go ahead and burn it all down just to watch it burn. Joseph would be right at the front for that party. "You never practice? I mean, with how old you are you should be able to flame up without thinking about it."
