With any - okay, and all - of the friends that Alanna had made since she had been turned into a were she was always very glad that she did not know anything about them that they had not told her. When she had been in school it had been harder for her to make and keep friends outside of the track team than it should have been and it was all because of the things that she would see when she touched them or their things. Now she did not have to worry about that, although subconsciously she still did, and she could smile at Lizbeth without having anything she did not need to know flashing through her mind. "Oh but she'd try," Alanna pointed out, actually laughing a little as Callalily started up her own personal chorus of mew's at the closed door and then at Lizbeth until the other redhead turned back to give her the attention that she was clearly in so much need of. "She would probably come back with a squirming chipmunk to make friends with me." Yes, Alanna could see that happening. The poor little terrified thing would give itself a heart attack, but she hoped Callalily would never bring her a dead chipmunk. That would make sleeping with the cat on her bed like she insisted extremely hard.
"Ummmmmm." Alanna had to stop and think about her weekend. The one in which she had really done a whole lot of nothing. "I saw Roxy last week, she brought me a bunch of sunflower seeds and stuff." And they had been delicious. She still had the remainder of the package stuffed up behind a row of glasses in the cabinet above the sink. Yes, stuffed and or hidden because that was a part of her nature that she knew came straight from the chipmunk she had been infected with. "Other than that..." She shrugged. "I haven't really done much. Yes, still, I know, I need to go outside but things happen when I go out there." Curly-haired little things who made her feel insane and were absolutely terrifying on top of it, to say nothing about the snake-people. And oh, speaking of that! What existed that was worse than them?! Because obviously something had to be worse than them or it would not have been able to kill Zach and leave him in some alley. Breathe, okay, breathe. No freaking out with other people in the apartment. Especially not human people. If she lost it around Roxy or Kiley then they would not be in near as much trouble as Lizbeth and Alanna would never forgive herself if she hurt the other redhead, or worse, bit her. Chill pill. No little curly-haired children here. Dropping herself into a chair she propped her chin and looked at Lizbeth, finding it impossible to not see that her almost perpetually happy friend was... happier? Was that possible? "You look like you're in a better-than-normal mood. I mean, can that happen?"
