That her head was a place that her son had trouble reading was something that Linnea was indeed fully aware of. It was actually something that she had been working on for most of her life, but her focus had been directed at Jokull. Leif had been a side-effect, Leif and all other telepaths. Linnea knew how to keep her thoughts either so quiet that they had to strain to hear or else she thought them so fast and jumbled that it would take too much time to sort them through unless one was very determined. Linnea liked it that way. The first day when Jokull had gotten frustrated with her because he was not quite sure what she was thinking had been one of the best of her life and definitely worth the consequence she had suffered because of it. "Then I'll get you a tea." Linnea nodded and turned towards the kitchen as she tried to recall if she had any sweet tea. No, she did not think there was any prepared, but it would not be that hard to make. A pot was set on and filled with water before she flicked the switch to heat it, a tea bag and pot of sugar set to the side along with the cup before she turned to look at Leif again. By that time he had already said that he would leave the ward for later. She actually felt a small smile forming on her face when she realized that it at least seemed like he was being some sort of considerate about her feelings towards his magic.
'Or that's what he wants you to think.'
No, Linnea did not care if he had an ulterior motive or any of that, what mattered to her was that Leif was waiting to do it and she was the one who benefited from it. The smile did melt away when he said that her head was not a quiet place today. It was those thoughts of Satu and the things that Cheila had said, rattling away like loose dishes in the machine. To her they were bumping against the bank of the river in her head, but to a telepath like Leif who had access to her thoughts for his entire life it must be a different sound entirely if he remarked on it. "Just thinking about Satu." Leif really, truly did not have to know what she had been told about his youngest sister. Not at all. "She is not taking to the news of having a new sibling well." 'We will call that a massive understatement if ever there was one. But close enough.' That was what Linnea figured as well. "Once we get started with a lesson I am sure it will quiet right down." The kettle started to whistle and she turned to remove it, going about making the tea with an efficiency that came only with years of practice. Automatically she added the amount of sugar that she knew Leif liked, tapping the spoon off before extending the cup towards him. "Speaking of, was there a specific area you wished to focus on at all?"
