keep following the heartlines on your hand Who: Eilidh and Layla When: Late afternoon Where: Outside Layla's house
Eilidh hadn't meant to get distracted on her way to say hello to Layla. She really hadn't. She'd intended on going right up to her door to ring the bell because she knew that that was Layla's car which meant she was home. But when she'd stepped onto the sidewalk she'd seen the swirl of designs she'd started the last time she was there. Of course it was still absolutely perfect and intact, but when she saw it she couldn't help but think that it wasn't done. What else could be done to make it better? The air elemental stopped right there in front of Layla's house, fingers tapping against her lips as she tried to think of what it was that would finally make the mural she'd decided to create complete.
'I thought we were here to say hello to Layla.'
"Mmhmm."
'You're not listening to me.'
"Exactly." Flicker made an irritated noise and flew off towards Layla's door, hoping that he would manage to get at least the witch's attention. While he was gone, Eilidh finally figured out what exactly it was that would make it perfect. With a bright smile she knelt down, having no mind at all for messing up the dress she was wearing, and pressed her palms flat against the ground. A few breaths later and her concentration had firmed up enough for the mural she'd created last time to begin changing in ways that would seem oh so subtle until someone actually looked closer. Because when they did that they would see that the swirls were no longer still. Now there was something that looked like a breeze rippling through, not even bothering to follow the exact same pattern. And it was spreading further up the cement. Eilidh laughed and clapped her hands together as she rocked back on her heels, looking quite pleased with herself for what she'd just done.
And she still hadn't forgotten what she was there for. She was just very, very distracted.
