Keeping quiet, Julian simply observed the man and let Lotti do all the talking. He slowly let his guard down and Julian actually felt a little bad at being gruff at him. In fact, if he had encountered the poor guy without Lotti around, Julian might even be asking the same questions as her...and being just as helpful. Having little pack members around clouded his ability to be completely rational about other people and he instinctively put his guards up to make sure none of his pack got taken advantage of. Julian contorted his face into something he hoped resembled 'reassuring' and listened at the exchange between the two. Lotti offered to help him find the person he was looking for a Julian nodded behind her, trying to back up what she'd said. He'd never apologize for it, of course, because what Julian had done was right by pack standards and surely the other wolf could understand and respect that.
No verbal apology, but maybe a look would convey...what? The guard that Julian had just dropped immediately rushed back up. He grabbed Lotti by the back of her jacket and pulled backwards, trying to get her behind him. Julian bared his teeth in a snarl and hunched his shoulders slightly, becoming even more intimidating than he already was. "And what would you want with August Summers?" Julian practically growled at the man. Never mind they were in the middle of the street during the middle of the day. Never mind that the poor kid looked nothing at all like a threat. Nope. Coincidences didn't really happen and after the whole Marisa-Lotti situation, Julian's tolerance for oddities was at an all-time low. He didn't even care that Lotti might actually take offense that he was manhandling her. "Well?" Julian added impatiently, brows knit together.
