A war was waging inside Venus' mind between her curiosity and her sense of self-preservation. If absolutely nothing else, she was pretty sure this girl believed what she was saying. Venus looked down at Raphaela, and she could tell her familiar was just as stumped as to what the hell they were supposed to do. Venus didn't want to continue this conversation in her hallway for all her neighbors to hear, but she wasn't so sold yet that she was ready to invite the girl in. The ears were interesting, yes, but not enough for Venus.
"Prove it," she said. How this girl could actually do that, she wasn't sure. She seemed to know things. Maybe she could tell her something about her family that you couldn't find on google. Or maybe she could fly. Venus hadn't really thought that through all the way.
