Venus was having one of those mornings where she just couldn't seem to get going. She was on her second cup of coffee, and still felt no closer to summoning enough energy to get in the shower and get dressed. She still felt like she could have easily crawled back into bed and gone back to sleep. Having not even changed out of her pajamas yet, she was starting to get closer to accepting that this was just going to be a lazy day. She didn't have many of those, so maybe she was just due. Maybe she'd just stay in all day and make Trent come over. And bring food. Yeah, food. That sounded like a good idea.
And then there was a knock on the door.
That in itself was kind of weird. Trent had a key, so did her mom and her sister. Anyone else and they should have had to ring the buzzer outside. A neighbor, maybe? Frowning, Venus looked over at Raphaela. The familiar raised her head and sniffed the air, then let her head rest again. No idea, she said, just as the knocking began again. Answer and find out.
Darn it. Venus sighed and climbed to her feet, fighting back a yawn as she headed to the door. She expected to see one of her neighbors, but when she opened the door, she had no idea who she was looking at. Whoever this girl was, she was very bright. "Hi," Venus greeted, slightly confused. "Can I help you?"
