If she had been a different kind of girl, one that was comfortable with making moves when the thought arose to make them, Lizbeth would have turned and kissed her as hard as she was dying to. But she wasn’t that kind of girl, not even close. All she could do was drop hints to the vampire of how much she wanted more. She couldn’t understand what was holding Liliya back. True, this meeting was not meant to be anything more than an interview for a position, but it never took other vampires very long to jump to something more physical after they had taken a taste of her blood. Sometimes they didn’t even completely finish having their fill before they took advantage of the rest that her body had to offer. Her mind had been lost in these thoughts as Liliya reached up and turned her head. Her heart, which had been beating at a pace that threatened to burst out of her chest, felt as though it stopped the moment that Liliya finally kissed her. She had been kissed more than a fair share of times, but this was the first time that she had ever shared this with someone else that she actually wanted to kiss her. Electricity prickled across her lips. Her eyes had instinctively closed themselves the moment they made contact and when she opened them again, her heart began to beat in triple time.
The sensations that Liliya was stirring inside of Lizbeth made her momentarily deaf to the question that was being asked of her. It took a full minute to finally catch up and understand that the vampire was waiting for an answer. “Oh! Um, yes… but it hasn’t been my choice.” She suddenly felt as though she were tripping over her words more than she had before. It seemed as though she was walking a tight rope between telling Liliya want would convince her to continue and fumbling through what would convince her to send her home. “I think Milo arranged something with each of them beforehand.” Her hand reached out for support to help herself turn around so that she could fully meet Liliya’s face, not realizing that she had rested her hand high on the thigh of the leg that Liliya was still growing. It was likely that she would have noticed the missing bottom half had she not been dumbfounded by the other woman’s eyes. She was convinced instantly that the effect they had on her had nothing to do with the fact that she was vampire. “I-is that a problem?” Lizbeth swallowed hard; she wasn’t sure she knew how to respond if the answer was yes.
