girls night in
Who: Alanna and Roxy
When: Evening
Where: Alanna's apartment
Roxy slumped down in the front seat of her car and checked the time on her phone. It was just a little after eight, which may have been too late for some to start making plans, but for someone who considered any time before midnight to be early, Roxy was looking for something to do with the rest of her evening. She had already tried calling Charlene, but the mermaid must have been busy and away from her phone. With a slight pout on her face, she scrolled trough her contacts, trying to decide who she should hang out with. There was no question in her mind as to whether or not she would have company tonight; going home at this time on a Friday night was out of the equation. There was Harper, the girl from the bakery. Roxy was convinced that the two of them were separated from birth, or at the very least cut from the same cloth; there was no other explanation for their passionate love of all things bright and ostentatious. Unfortunately, the two had only met the once and though that was enough to consider the other woman a friend, she at least liked to wait until they had met three more times during the day before she bombarded a new friend at their house at night. Her thoughts jumped next to Quentin and it bothered her that it had been so long since she had seen him. Some friend I am. No sooner had the thought entered her head, her phone highlighted the name ‘Alanna’ and Roxy felt her stomach drop. Her mind raced, trying to recall the last time she had seen her chipmunk friend. All that she could recall was the day she had found Alanna after her kidnapping and taken her to the hospital. She knew she had visited her then, but after she had been released… there was nothing by a giant blank in her mind. Roxy threw her phone into the passenger seat, turned the engine over, and slammed the car into drive. “Bad friend. Horrible friend. Worst friend in the universe.” Roxy had made a quick stop at the liquor store (and then another at a quick mart for mandatory snacks) before pulling up to Alanna’s apartment. The other were was a sweetheart and she knew that there was no way that Alanna could hate her, but her heart still pounded in her chest as she ascended the stairs for fear that she would be turned away. Roxy set down the drinks and other snacks at her feet, pulling out what she knew to be Alanna’s favorites. Tonight she would make up for lost time with Alanna, and tomorrow… she could only hope that Quentin wasn’t too busy to meet her for coffee. She knocked on the door, and then held the peanuts and sunflower seeds in front of her face. Roxy waited for the door to crack open before she peeked out. “Look what I brought for the best Chippy in the entire world!” |
