Pinky swear over a jar of jalapenos
WHO: Kajsa & Bradley
WHERE: The Owl's Nest
WHEN: Late night
This pregnancy was making her go mad. Kajsa had never felt the need to sneak out of the house, even when Jokull was alive. And yet, she had been seriously contemplating shimmying out of her window using her blankets and sheets. The only thing that stopped her was her common sense reminding her that it would be a far more obvious sign that she was out of the house than simply slipping out. Not that anyone would care if she was leaving, really. It wasn't as if anyone monitored her comings and goings. It was just her own brain that was making her question every little thing. With that in mind, Kajsa had dressed hurriedly and left the house quietly. Luckily, no one had caught her or cornered her. But what now?
It was too late to be out, really. It was past dinner time for most people but Kajsa realized she hadn't really eaten her dinner. Everything made her feel sick nowadays. The only thing she ever wanted to eat were peppers and chilis. The hotter the better. And that was just ridiculous because a dot of wasabi was frequently enough to ruin a good sushi meal for her. She hailed a cab and asked him to take her to the Owl's Nest. If nothing else, they had good food.
Once she arrived at the restaurant, she was seated almost immediately as it was practically empty at this point. She blanched at everything on the menu and when the waiter came for her order, she sighed and pulled at the tips of her hair. "Can I get the seafood pasta? But without the noodles? And spiced up. As spicy as possible and still legal to serve." The server looked at her with a surprised look on his face, mumbled something about asking the chef and then left without even taking her drink order. "Sparkling spring water, too, jerk," Kajsa called after him as she narrowed her eyes. She really wasn't this cranky most of the time.
'You're causing me problems already,' she accused the growing life inside her. She rubbed her belly, completely aware that there was hardly even a bump yet.
